Up for your consideration is a very clean running & looking M923A2. This one is ready to go for parades, car shows, trade events, getting groceries, mid-night pizza runs, and driving around in general. I’ll let the pictures do most of the “speaking for the truck,” but here are some clarifying details.
This is a true M923A2 - The motor is a Cummins 8.3L 6CTA diesel. This is a turbocharged motor putting out 240HP and 745 foot-pounds torque. - It has 6 nearly new Michelin XZL 14.00 R20 tires and a brand new, never mounted spare tire. - It is CTIS equipped and it ACTUALLY WORKS. The control box is fully functional, the tires do not flat-spot and lose air after a few days of being parked, and the indicator lights all read correctly. - Truck is ABS equipped. - It is equipped with the newer aluminum troop seats. - It appears that this truck once played host to communications equipment as it is a ball mount on the interior for a lap top, it has a radio/satellite tower mount by the spare tire, and has a aux power port by the battery box. Mechanically speaking this truck is also ready to go. It has just come out of the shop with a new fuel filter, fuel pickup tube and elbows, and fuel line. The mechanic (also a fellow MV collector) gave this one a clean bill of health! - As it sits it has 17872 miles on the odometer and 817 running hours. - The oil pressure builds and reads correctly. - ALL FOUR 6TA Military batteries are fresh and put out the correct voltage. This truck had no issues starting on sub 32-degree days. - Air pressure builds quickly to 125 PSI in the primary and secondary tanks. - All air brakes (service and emergency) work and do not leak. - The Allison transmission shifts are on point and smooth. - Engine and transmission temperatures read as normal even on highway drives during 90 degree summer days. - The engine has an airtight fuel system and will not lose prime after being parked for an extended period of time. Not only does this truck run well, and looks great on the exterior, but it has one of the cleanest interiors I’ve ever seen on a 5-Ton. No cuts or tears in the seats or top. This truck also has several upgrades installed. Here is what you’ll get with this vehicle. - TMG headlamp guards - Prima LED rear floodlights (reverse lighting) - Four front tow shackles - Custom built 3-switch panel wired and powered with in-line fuse. One switch controls the rear lights and the other two are ready for you too add additional lights or accessories. - Matching camo Jerry can - TMG locking/keyed door handles - Keyed ignition in place of the switch (this is one SECURE truck) - TMG locking/keyed diesel fuel cap - TMG rear tag bracket In addition to these installed accessories you’ll get a few additional things that complete the truck! - Emergency triangle kit - Heavy-duty rubber wheel chock and chain - Tire iron for those massive lug nuts - All weather keyed-alike Master Locks (for the exterior tool boxes) - Broom and brush to keep the truck clean and help clear snow off - Safety troop strap - Fully charged fire extinguisher - TMG cup holders (these really work) - Mechanix gloves (XL) - Adjustable wrench and large slip joint pliers - Original non-locking door handles - NINE CANS of touch up paint - Spare fuel tube, elbows, and fuel cap chain - Spare fuel cap with valve so you can pressurize the system - Interior LED light (battery powered) - BRAND NEW in package TMG keyed battery cut off kit - Original military log book (great to keep your registration & insurance in) ***Not pictured, but will be included with the sale of the truck will be the camo cargo cover and support set (tarp & bows). This truck also came with some sort of antenna which you’ll also get.*** It goes without saying that as nice of a vehicle as this is, it is a 25 year old military tactical truck and is being sold as-is. No warranties are expressed or implied. The truck will need a new passenger side mirror ($30 on Ebay). I’m also keeping the C84 bridge plate as it has sentimental value. If you’re looking for a military 5-Ton and are discerning as I am, but do not wish to spend $20k+ for a custom built truck, this is THE one to look at. I had no problem getting this insured as a historical vehicle and insured in Maryland. I have a free & clear Maryland State title in hand. Thank you for your consideration!
